Who we are

Eminent Business Advisors started in 2017 with a simple idea: most consulting firms talk too much and deliver too little. We wanted to do the opposite. Our team of six senior consultants brings direct experience from manufacturing, fintech, retail, and professional services. Every engagement has a named lead who stays with you from the first call to the final review.

We work with owner-managed businesses turning over between £500,000 and £25 million. That range matters because the challenges at that scale are specific. You need real financial controls but probably cannot justify a full-time CFO. You want to grow but hiring too fast could sink you. We have seen these patterns hundreds of times and know which levers actually move the needle.

Our office sits in Hilpert-over-Padberg, Scotland, but we serve clients throughout the UK and occasionally in Ireland. About half our work is done on-site at your premises; the rest happens remotely via structured weekly check-ins.

What we do

Six core services, each scoped to produce a measurable result within an agreed timeframe.

Financial analysis and planning

We build 12-month and 36-month cash-flow models tailored to your revenue cycle. You get a spreadsheet you can actually use, not a 60-page report that gathers dust. We also benchmark your margins against sector averages so you know where you stand.

Growth strategy

Entering a new market? Launching a product line? We map the competitive landscape, size the opportunity, and draft a go-to-market plan with realistic revenue targets. Most strategy projects run eight to ten weeks.

Operations improvement

We audit your workflows, supply chain, and staffing allocation. Typical findings include duplicated approval steps, under-used software, and scheduling bottlenecks. Clients usually recover 10 to 15 hours of staff time per week within the first month of changes.

Leadership and team development

Hiring your first middle manager? Restructuring after a founder steps back? We design reporting lines, write role descriptions, and coach new leaders through their first 90 days. This is hands-on work, not a seminar.

Digital readiness assessment

We evaluate your current tech stack, identify gaps, and recommend specific tools with pricing. Whether you need a CRM, an inventory system, or just a better invoicing workflow, we shortlist three options, run demos with you, and help negotiate contracts.

Risk and compliance review

We check your contracts, insurance coverage, data-handling practices, and regulatory obligations. You receive a prioritised action list with deadlines, not a vague risk matrix. Particularly useful before taking on investment or entering regulated sectors.

How an engagement works

Four stages, each with a defined output. You approve each stage before we move on.

Discovery call

A 45-minute video call where we listen. You describe the problem, we ask questions, and by the end we tell you honestly whether we can help. No charge for this step.

Diagnostic report

Over two weeks we review your financials, interview key staff, and examine your processes. The output is a 5-to-8-page diagnostic with findings and a proposed scope of work, including fixed-fee pricing.

Implementation support

We work alongside your team to execute the agreed plan. Weekly progress calls keep everyone aligned. If something is not working, we adjust the approach rather than ploughing on regardless.

Review and handover

At the end of the engagement we present results against the original targets, document what changed, and hand over all templates and tools so your team can maintain momentum without us.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the things prospective clients ask most often.

Most projects fall between £3,000 and £15,000, depending on scope and duration. We quote a fixed fee after the discovery call so there are no surprises. The initial 45-minute consultation is free.
We take on startups that have been trading for at least six months and have some revenue. Pre-revenue ventures are usually better served by accelerator programmes, and we can point you toward a few good ones in Scotland.
Both. Financial analysis and strategy work is done remotely with weekly video calls. Operations improvement usually requires at least two on-site visits so we can observe workflows first-hand. We travel anywhere in the UK at no extra charge.
A focused financial review takes about four weeks. A full strategy and implementation project runs eight to fourteen weeks. We agree the timeline upfront and flag any delays as soon as they appear.
Our strongest track record is in manufacturing, professional services, food and drink, and technology. That said, the core disciplines of financial planning and process improvement transfer well across sectors. If your industry is unfamiliar to us, we will tell you during the discovery call.
